Elisabeth Flunger
Biography
Elisabeth Flunger (1960, Bolzano/South Tyrol) is a percussionist, composer, performer and sound artist. She studied musicology, ethnology, classical percussion and composition in Vienna. She has been active as a percussionist since 1987: as a soloist, in ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, die reihe, Ensemble des 20. Jahrhunderts, or together with other musicians, but also in the field of dance and theater. She also conceives site- and theme-specific installations and performances, musical marble runs and soundtracks for video and audio installations. In Luxembourg, where she lived from 2005 to 2016, Flunger built up an archive of experimental and improvised music for the women's library CID | Fraen an Gender. Flunger has returned to Vienna in 2016.
