Philippe Quesne
Biography
Philippe Quesne (1970) is a French director, scenographer and playwright and one of France's most internationally renowned theatre makers. The trained visual artist initially worked primarily as a stage and costume designer. His performance group Vivarium Studio, founded in 2003, consists of actors, visual artists, musicians and dancers. Over the years, he has developed a repertoire that tours worldwide. 2014 to 2020 he has been the artistic director of the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers in Paris. There, he regularly collaborated with sociologist Bruno Latour's study programme on questions of artistic practice and climate change.
