Susi Rogenhofer
Biography
Susi Rogenhofer (1971, Vienna) aka Sweet Susie is a visual artist, electronic musician, cultural worker, art and culture educator, DJ (among others under the synonym Sweet Susie), club organizer and board member of IG Kultur Wien. In her productions, installations and sound works, which mainly take place in public spaces and have been realized for example for the Wiener Festwochen, she mainly deals with social and ecological issues. By immersing herself in the most diverse realities of life, her artistic practice makes the unheard audible and the unseen visible, transforming them into aesthetic experiences that are realized in various media, such as audiovisual productions, installations, sound and photography. Her musical work currently moves between sound art and electronic music production, in the areas of dub, techno and ambient. As DJ Sweet Susie she was one of the pioneers of the Austrian DJ scene, performing at renowned festivals and venues worldwide. She was co-organizer of the Dub Club in Vienna's Flex, which for many years was an institution known beyond Austria's borders for the so-called "Vienna Sound" and club music of all kinds.
