Vincent Wechselberger
Biography
Vincent Wechselberger (1998, Austria) is a photographer working between St.Pölten and Berlin with a semi-autobiographical focus on marginalized queer groups – intimately depicting their joy, closeness, sadness and rapture while advocating for a more inclusive coexistence. His first print project, "HOLES", published in 2023, is a zine featuring 70 characters celebrating their taboo body part. Wechselberger's first book, "READY", is a humanistic portrait of contemporary queer sex work that grew out of his own personal relationship with it. This series offers an accessible insight into the realities of sex work – the elation and self-actualization, but also the struggles and stigmatization they experience. Through a series of portraits, still lifes, video stills and interviews, Wechselberger aims to give a pure voice to this community and refute common misconceptions.
