Wandl
Biography
Lukas Wandl (1994, St. Pölten) aka Wandl is a progressive Austrian music producer, singer and multimedia artist. Wandl was interested in music from an early age – at the age of 5 he started learning the violin, at 12 he was experimenting with music production software and writing his first songs. Socialized by hip-hop and obsessed with the guitar, he soon pursued his own musical vision. At the age of 15, he released his first EP (2011) and a self-produced album (2012). Wandl moves to Vienna in 2013, where he joins the label and artist collective Affine Records. 2014 sees the release of his EP "Far Way Home", which brings him international recognition for the first time. He collaborates with Salzburg rapper Crack Ignaz in 2016 and produces the album "Geld Leben" on his own. His official debut solo album "It's All Good Tho" followed in July 2017. Electronic-psychedelic melodies meet organic sound. Sounds are chopped up and veiled: samples, piano recordings, drums and synthesizers. The analog sound aesthetic and Wandl's characteristic voice function as a unifying element. His third solo album "Body Memory" was released in July 2022.
