Wunderbaum

The internationally successful Dutch theatre collective Wunderbaum was founded in 2001 and consists of five actors, Walter Bart, Wine Dierickx, Matijs Jansen, Maartje Remmers, Marleen Scholten, and the designer Maarten van Otterdijk. They play self-written pieces based on improvisation and collaborate with other international artists, festivals and performers from different fields. The collective has had Rotterdam (Theatre Rotterdam) as its permanent base since 2010 and ran the Theaterhaus Jena in Germany from 2018 to 2022. Wunderbaum has made three films so far: "Maybe Sweden" (2006), "Stop Acting Now" (2016) and "Urlaub in Deutschland" (2021). They have already won numerous prizes such as the "Total Theatre Award" (2014, Edinburgh), the "Theo do'r" (2016), the "Antonio Conti" (2020, Italy) and the "Martin Linzer Theatre Prize" (2022, Germany).
