Die Klimakonferenz der ZivilgesellschaftDescription
Climate change is not a feeling, but it is associated with many feelings: anger about too little progress and supposedly unwilling governments that conspire with industry, sadness about time already lost and the certainty that we will lose even more. We feel something tipping and react with shock, denial or sometimes even aggression towards those who warn us. But there is also joy for what has already been achieved, something that is overlooked all to often. Anger, sadness, joy – they are powerful guides and they have an immense potential to spur us to action.
As a cooperation between Tangente St. Pölten, GLOBART and Solektiv, the three-day conference “Tipping Time” opens up a space for discourse and discussion on a scientific, activist and artistic level, with talks, panels, music, art and workshops.
The centre of the “Climate Conference of Civil Society” is the meeting between well-known national and international guests, the connection with regional initiatives and the exchange with cusious visitors. We will talk about climate justice, colonial and economic powers, activists’ scope for action and the democratic implications of climate change. All this will take place in the Sonnenpark St. Pölten, a place that would not exist without the commitment of Solektiv (formerly LAMES/Sonnenpark) and supporters. Surrounded by nature, people can think, talk and act together.
In co-operation with Solektiv and GLOBART - Verein für diskursive Praxis.
