St. Pölten: not too big and not too small

Almost 40 years after being elected federal state capital, St. Pölten has sharpened its profile: a lively art scene and nightlife, exciting shops in the old town and a flourishing gastronomy await its guests. Kilometres of cycle paths, green oases and inviting places to stop for refreshments ensure relaxation in the heart of the city. And all of this is embedded in baroque, art nouveau and modern architecture as well as in a lively art and cultural scene. St. Pölten thus presents itself as an attractive urban destination, surrounded by the diverse Mostviertel region and close to the Wachau.

St. Pölten vibrates, is sometimes cheekily loud, but can also be quiet. Above all, however, St. Pölten has developed into an open and culturally diverse medium-sized city that is neither too big nor too small. A city that puts on quite a show throughout the year: For example premieres, dance or theatre. The city also celebrates live concerts in every conceivable format and size, as well as festivals, just as it should be.
