Close to culture and wine

Just a few minutes from the city center of St. Pölten lies the wine region of Traisental. It offers a unique combination of high-quality wines, a lively cultural scene and a beautiful landscape.

Responsible for the wines are up-and-coming winemakers who produce authentic, award-winning wines. The soils in the Traisental are very diverse, resulting in a great variety: From light white wines to strong red wines to sweet wines, everything is on offer. Cellar lane festivals, Sturmtage, Winzerkirtage, the Wölblinger Weinblick and the spring event Weinfrühling are popular events where you can meet the winegrowers in person and get to know their wineries. For many of them the call “Ausg’steckt is’” sounds several times a year – meaning the Heurige is open.

Nestled between the vineyards, rolling hills and small villages of the Traisental you will find a lively art and culture scene. The cultural diversity of the region with galleries, museums and Herzogenburg abbey offers visitors the opportunity to discover new experiences. The top-class cultural events such as the concerts in Walpersdorf castle and Thalheim castle, the Traismauer Summer of Culture, the Sitzenberg castle Summer Festival or the Kleinkunstbühne Zwentendorf cabaret theatre are widely known.

The fact that the winegrowers have their finger on the pulse of the times is demonstrated by exciting cooperations such as the Mostviertler Feldversuche and numerous innovative events such as the Fusion Heurigen.
