Rising Rivers

Be a river! Choose your beloved childhood river or the one

you pass every day on your way to work. It can be a large

or a small one, a creek or a stream. Size doesn’t matter, they

are all equally important. They carry water, they carry life.

Dress in blue and green and join the River Sisters!

 

Join us this Saturday 21 September for the walk of Rising Rivers by Cecylia Malik, which is part of the art parcours The Way of the Water.

Rising Rivers stems from Rivers Sisters, Cecylia Malik’s ongoing project where art and activism meet in the form of tributes to water and calls for its protection.

 

Our meeting point is at 15:00 h at the Island in the Traisen at the Blumenwegbrücke close to the Wagramer Sonnwendfeier Wiese. From there, we will walk from the Traisen to Tangente’s Festival Centre, bringing all the rivers represented in Cecylia’s signs to the city.

The walk will be accompanied by a watery musical intervention led by artist Roberta Lazo Valenzuela.
